RE-COVERING A POOL TABLE
With thousands of slates/cushions refurbished over the years you can be assured we have all the necessary credentials to rejuvenate your table. The resulting re-cover will give your pool table a playing surface similar to a new table - if we replace your cushions with a brand new set you will have an exact match of a new table!
Re-covering slate and cushions initially looks easy - the reality is that first timers seldom complete a satisfactory job. For relatively low cost let us complete the job efficiently and to a high standard.
Briefly , the recover covers many stages:-
- Firstly, slate and cushions are stripped. Any loose glue or debris is removed from both sides of the slate. Cushion rubbers need to be checked for suppleness - if drying out has occurred we can replace them. Brittle or dried cushion rubbers will give unreliable ball response.
- Pool table spray adhesive is applied to outer edges and on small areas of the slate. Cloth is stretched length ways, stuck and trimmed. Cloth is then stretched across the breadth of the table in the same manner. There must be no slackness in the cloth.
- Cushion recovering ideally requires a pressurised staple gun otherwise this job can take a very long time and will not give the cloth the tightness required. At all times the cloth must not be harshly tightened as this will give an uneven cushion rubber line.
