HOW MUCH ROOM WILL I NEED FOR MY POOL TABLE?
Prior to choosing a table we strongly recommend you draw a plan of the floor area of your games room. Standard table sizes (outside dimensions) are either 6ft x 3ft 6in or 7ft x 4ft. Standard cue sizes are usually 48 inch or 57 inch. Therefore, for a 7ft table we recommend a room size of 15ft x 12ft minimum for 48in cues and 17ft x 14ft for the use of 57 inch cues. 6ft tables require 14ft x 11ft 6in and 16ft x 13ft 6 in respectively according to cue size.
However, do not despair if your room isn’t the ideal size. We will gladly supply 36 inch cues or provide extra cues for you to adjust to the room you have available. Please call us at any time to discuss the options.
LEVELLING YOUR POOL TABLE
If we install the table we will always leave the table perfectly level for you to immediately have a realistic game of pool. However , if you wish to level a table yourself this is the ideal way:
1. Prior to laying the slate in place do a pre-check on the stays the slate rests on by adjusting the feet up or down.
2. Place a quality builders spirit level across the breadth of the table (do not fall into the trap of buying a cheap plastic spirit level - they are usually out of sync!). Adjust both feet by screwing up or down, remembering the thread length available to you. Once level repeat at the other end.
3. Place the level lengthways in the middle of the table and adjust again. Repeat nearer to both centre pockets lengthways for final adjustment.
Always remember if you have a deep pile carpet the table will need re-adjusting once it has settled.
CARE OF YOUR POOL TABLE
Constant care of the table will increase your playing enjoyment and will increase the time in between re-covers. Always brush the cloth from the baulk end and therefore with the nap. Ensure you brush away chalk marks as chalk has abrasive qualities and will cause excessive wear on the cloth. For stubborn stains/marks use branded cloth cleaner (we can supply this for you). When not in use we strongly recommend you buy a fitted plastic cover. No drinking or smoking near the table – the same rules as your local pub!! Keep surface away from direct sunlight as cloth will fade quickly.
